First, I would like to thank all of those who responded to my first post. You guys solved my problem without me tearing out the rest of my hair. My new problem has to do with filling the pores on a walnut uke. I used several applications of the LMI paste filler dyed to match the wood but it didn't seem to help much. I have applied multiple coats of tru oil finish on the instruments and wet sanded between coats but the pores are really obvious. Any ideas on finishing walnut are appreciated. Bob B. |

Hi Bob I have used the LMI paste too, although now I fill with Z-Poxy, anyways, you might not be getting the pours completely filled. After applying the filler and sanding it smooth you should be able to hold the body at an angle in the light and see the surface, you want this to be as smooth as glass. AT that point you apply your finish. If you see any pours, you need more filler. |

Lance Thanks. I just wonder how many filler applications I need to make? |
